Pineapple dreams

Tried starting a pineapple, with no luck. Here it is, just dried (3 days after cutting) and placed in water. But in a few days, it molded over. Here's the link to the photos - http://on.fb.me/9EEgvW. If anyone has had luck starting a pineapple plant, I'd sure like to know how you did it.
