Last of the yellows

Harvested the last yellow tomatoes today as I was taking down the tomato plants (always a mournful experience). But a week's worth of surprisingly cold nights tool a fast toll on the tomatoes, which some years can go through October. Alas, not this year. I made a salad with the yellows, some sweet cukes from the garden, pineapple sage, basil and parsley, raw sunflower seeds and dried apricots. Very much summer. But it is drawing to a close now.
