Lesson: Never give up on a plant. This pot of pansies went outside way too early (March). A few nights of hard frost and the little plants looked like they'd died. But instead of tossing them on the compost pile, I moved them into a sunny spot, cut back the dead leaves, and lived with a wilted, flowerless thing for a month. Now....it's as if the frost damage was a near-death experience. This group of pansies wants to LIVE! Bigger and better than the ones I planted in late April, which never tasted frost.
