Drying

Each summer the garden room morphs from a place of seed starting to the room where herbs are dried. This month so far, comfrey, white sage and lavender have put our their first bolts and were cut back and hung to dry. Roses too, that I cut for vases, are drying, and lilacs from May are drying and holding their color pretty well. I don't use fixatives on the flowers. Just Mother E. The herbs will be used through winter. Just last night, after my shower, I rinsed my hair with some lavender water I made from last year's lavender. The dried herbs really last a long time.
