Watermelon Wall
As per
usual, my original idea to grow watermelon in pots this season has morphed into
a bigger project. While researching growing watermelon in pots, I found lots of
literature on watermelon walls. Go to this video for a demo:

way, we can still grow our watermelons in the ground, where nourishment and
water is plentiful (watermelon is a heavy feeder and must not dry out), and not gobble up precious ground space. Growing vertical is a
popular food production method. This watermelon wall will not only keep delicate
vines off the ground, but strategically placed, will give us some privacy while
working in the vegetable garden.
I plan
to do three watermelon plants in an extra-large pot on the deck anyway. Just an
experiment. You can never have too much watermelon in summer.
